A popular book/series that you didn’t like.
For this I have a few. The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas, and the Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes are the first that come to mind. I have read the first two books in both series and neither really worked for me.
A popular book/series that everyone else seems to hate but you love.
Well I don’t know about love, but I kind of enjoyed Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I know its been criticised for being a bit derivative (it is) but I didn’t think it was that bad. I mean it is nothing special or unique but for the most part I enjoyed reading it. However I don’t know if I will continue the series.
A Love Triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with OR an OTP that you don’t like.
I don’t have one, to be honest. Pass.
A popular book genre you hardly reach for.
Contemporary romance. I’m not a huge fan of romance books. Or paranormal books.
A popular or beloved character you do not like.
Celaena Sardothien. I really do not like her. Another example is Magnus from the Falling Kingdoms series – I don’t understand why people like him – he is not a nice guy and I really dislike him. Sorry.
A popular author you can’t seem to get into.
Sarah J Maas, Morgan Rhodes…
A popular book trope that you’re tired of seeing.
Love triangles, hands down. I absolutely hate them and don’t understand why authors use them so much. I am probably less likely to read a book if I know there is a love triangle.
A popular series that you have no interest in reading.
Well I have no interest in continuing the Throne of Glass series or the Falling Kingdoms series. I also have no interest in reading the Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare.
The saying goes “The book is always better than the movie”, but what movie or T.V. show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?
The 100 tv show is definitely way better the books.
What are some of your unpopular opinions?
See you next time.
