TTT: Books you’d buy right now if you could.

b1a3f-toptentuesday2

It is that time of the week for another Top Ten Tuesday. It is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010. This weeks topic is books you’d buy right now if someone gave you a fully loaded gift card. So basically books on my wishlist. I have linked to each books Goodreads page for your browsing pleasure, so just click the book titles to get there. Let’s get started.

  • The Hunted Assassin by Paul B. Kohler – I received a digital copy of this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review and I ended up really enjoying it. So I would love to get my hands on a physical copy to add to my bookshelves. It is a mix of the science fiction and mystery/thriller genre.
  • Tales from Watership Down by Richard Adams – I love Watership Down. It is one of my all time favourite books, so when I found out this was a kind of sequel I had to put it on my wishlist.
  • Traitor’s Blade by Sebestien de Castell – this is the first book in a fantasy series. As you can probably guess, I am always up to try fantasy books and this sounds right up my street.
  • Monstress Volume 1: Awakening – I have been meaning to try out more graphic novel and this one looks interesting. The art style really drew me in and I definitely want to give it a go.
  • The Pellinor series by Alison Croggon – if you’ve been following my blog for a while you know I adore this series but I don’t actually own them. I read my sister’s editions so I would love to add this series to my bookshelves.
  • The Art of Howl’s Moving Castle by Hayao Miyazaki – this looks amazing. Howl’s Moving Castle is probably my favourite Studio Ghibli film (Princess Mononoke a close second) and I would love the chance to see all the art.
  • Authority by Jeff Vandermeer – this is the second book in the Southern Reach trilogy and I don’t know why I haven’t picked this up yet. I thought the first book was so good – it’s intriguing and really quite creepy.
  • Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson – I recently finished Way of Kings: Part 2 and I enjoyed it a lot more than part 1, so I definitely want to continue on with this series at some point.
  • Blood Song by Anthony Ryan – this is book one in the Raven’s Shadow series. I recently read The Waking Fire by Ryan and I loved it, so I am interested to try out more from him. I have a full review of The Waking Fire if you are interested.
  • Arcadia by Iain Pears – I have heard some great things about this book and the plot sounds really interesting. I saw Jen Campbell rave about this book and she completely sold me on this.

There you have it 🙂 – 10 books I’d buy if I was given a fully loaded gift card. I’m trying to be good this year and not succumb to the desire to buy all of the books, but it can be tricky. I want to read the majority of the books I own before buying anymore books so I am currently on a bit of a book buying ban :). Let me know if you’ve read any of these books or what books are on your wishlist in the comments. I hope you are all having a great day and I will see you next time.

  1. Ooh, you’ve piqued my curiosity on Tales from Watership Down. I loved Watership Down as well and had never heard there was any kind of sequel out there. Thanks for the head’s up on that 🙂
