Top 5 Wednesday was originally created and run by Lainey aka gingerreadslainey (Youtube channel) but it is now being run by Sam aka Thoughts on tomes (Youtube channel). Each week there is a different topic. This week it’s book you want to re-read. I am a big fan of revisiting books and there are quite a few books that I’ve re-read numerous times. Having said that I haven’t done a lot of rereading this past year but I definitely have some books I want to revisit. Let’s get onto the books.
-
Watership Down / Richard Adams – if you’ve been following this blog for a while now, you will know my love for this series. I haven’t read it for quite some time now and I am so excited to read the illustrated edition. I hope to reread this one soon.
-
North and South / Elizabeth Gaskell – this is one of my all time favourite classics and it has been far too long since I read it the last time. The BBC adaptation is really good as well.
-
The Sublte Knife / Philip Pullman – I reread Northen Lights earlier this year so I would love to continue to reread this trilogy – it is one of my all time favourite series.
-
Never Let Me Go / Kazuo Ishiguro – again this is one of my all time favourite books and it is been ages since I read it. I really want to reread soon and since it is quite short I hope this will happen soon.
-
The Gift / Alison Croggon – I am hoping to do a reread of this series with a friend, probably not until next year though. I love this series so much and again it has been ages since I last read it. I am so excited to reread this.
There are so many books I want to reread, but I actually found it quite easy to narrow it down to five. I think I might set aside a month next year to dedicate to rereads, or every other month set aside one book to reread. I find it kind of comforting revisiting my favourite books :). I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.

I really want to read North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, and I’m super excited for the gorgeous Macmillan Collector’s Library edition of the book to come out.

Funny you’re mentioning Watership down. I’ve been browsing BBC Radio’s programs today and I’ve noticed they’re playing it again: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b081tpw0
I know it’s just an adaptation, but sometimes it’s just the thing I need to remember a story 🙂

I loved His Dark Materials too 🙂 I don’t have time to re-read and don’t really have a comfort read Pippa. I know lots of people do!

Maybe I should listen to the audio version of the books I want to re-read 🙂 I love that others do have comfort reads.
