Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This weeks topic is series I’ve given up on. The theme for this weeks topic is reading the first book in a series and not loving it enough to continue with it.
-
Blackthorn and Grim series / Juliet Marillier / read the first book
-
Shadowdance series / David Dalglish / read the first book
-

-
Shades of Magic trilogy / V. E. Schwab / read the first book
-
The Queen of the Tearling trilogy / Erika Johansen / read the first two books

There are so many other series and books I want to read that I won’t be continuing with these series. Most of the books mentioned I enjoyed but I didn’t love them. What series have you given up on? I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.

Not Shades of Magic! Although to be honest, I can imagine the sheer size of the last book being enough to put people off 😆 I still need to finish reading the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy and The Queen of the Tearling trilogy – I do intend to, it just takes me forever apparently.

I’ve given up on series that were okay, but I didn’t love them. I have less time to read then I used to, so I’ve had to learn to let go of books and move one. Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.

Yeah some of these books I liked but didn’t love and as you say it’s important to prioritise the books you love.

I actually haven’t read any of these books! But it’s a fantastic list – I honestly don’t hear much about these books, so it’s interesting to hear your thoughts!

I haven’t read any of those series.
I don’t think I’m going to continue on with Illuminae. Maybe it’s better in print, but the story pissed me off about halfway through and I had to google the end to get enough motivation to finish it.

I liked the Black Thorne and Grim series. Haven’t read any of your other books listed.
I doubt I will continue the Invisible Library series nor the Hybrid Chronicles (a YA series whi h I rarely read).
