Hi guys, I hope you are all well. I know I don’t usually post on a Thursday but I wanted to announce my participation in the Year of Asian Reading challenge and share my possible TBR. This challenge is all about reading as many books by Asian authors as possible. One of my favourite books last year was written by a Japanese author (Nahoko Uehashi) so I cannot wait to find more favourites. It is a year long challenge and you guys can join in at any time if you want to. It is co-hosted by four fantastic bloggers; The Quiet Pond CW from The Quiet Pond, Lily from Sprinkles of Dreams, Shealea and Vicky from Vicky Who Reads.
I’ve decided to go with the adorable Malayan tapir challenge level, which means my goal is to read 21-30 books. I’m hoping to really push myself and try out a load of new authors for this challenge. I think I have a tendency to stick with the authors I am familiar with so this challenge will hopefully make me try new authors.
Now I am going to share a possible TBR. I’m not going to be sharing 21-30 books because then this post would be very long and I currently don’t have that many on my TBR. To be honest I’m not the best at sticking to TBRs so we’ll see how this goes :).
TBR:
White Chrysanthemum / Mary Lynn Bracht
Nocturnes / Kazuo Ishiguro
Free Food for Millionaires / Min Jin Lee
Dogs at the Perimeter / Madeleine Thien
Nausicaa manga / Hayao Miyazaki
The Crystal Ribbon / Celeste Lim
Women of the Silk / Gail Tsukiyama
New Releases:
Dragon Pearl / Yoon Ha Lee / 17th January 2019
The Night Tiger / Yangsze Choo / 12th February 2019
The Waste Tide / Chen Qiufan / 30th April 2019
Upon a Burning Throne / Ashok K. Banker / 1st May 2019
How We Disappeared / Jing-Jing Lee / 2nd May 2019
The Soul of the Sword / Julie Kagawa / 27th June 2019
That’s it for today. I’m excited to start this challenge and hopefully by the end of the year I’ll have read over 20 books by Asian authors. I’m not going to put to much pressure on myself though. Are you participating in this challenge? I’d love to know if you have any recommendations for me. I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.
I’m not doing this challenge, even though I think it’s a great one. I’m trying to keep my challenges minimal this year.

Good luck with this reading challenge – I am giving it a go too! I already read quite a few books by Asian authors but trying to make ever more of an effort to do it from now on. I hadn’t heard of some of the books on your reading list so will be looking them up!
