Hi guys, I hope you are all well. Today I wanted to share the series I want to finish this year. Some of these are already completed, while others will be completed with the release of the final book in the series this year. No surprise that all of them are fantasy series. How many times I can type series? 🙂 Anyway I’ve loved all of these books so far and I cannot wait to see how they all conclude. Let’s get started.

The Winnowing Flame trilogy / Jen Williams

The Ninth Rain, The Bitter Twins and The Poison Song

The first two books in this trilogy were fantastic and the third book is set to be released this year. I plan to read it as soon as it comes out, so I will definitely be finishing off this trilogy this year. I highly recommend checking these books out.

Gods of Blood and Powder trilogy / Brian McClellan

Sins of Empire, Wrath of Empire and Blood of Empire

Again I have loved the first two books in this trilogy and cannot wait for the third book. Blood of Empire is set to be released in November 2019 so I hope to finish this trilogy this year but we’ll see if that actually happens. 

Draconis Memoria trilogy / Anthony Ryan

The Waking Fire, The Legion of Flame and The Empire of Ashes

For this trilogy, I’m waiting for the third and final book to be released as a paperback (Feb 2019). I’ve really enjoyed the first two books so I’m looking forward to seeing how this trilogy concludes. 

Li Du series / Elsa Hart

Jade Dragon Mountain, The White Mirror and The City of Ink

This is a mix of historical fiction and murder mystery set in 18th century China. Again I’ve really enjoyed the first two books, but haven’t read the third book yet. I’m hoping to pick up a copy sometime this year. 

Lady Trent series / Marie Brennan

A Natural History of Dragons, The Tropic of Serpents, The Voyage of the Basilisk, In the Labyrinth of Drakes and Within the Sanctuary of Wings

Once again I’ve read the first two books, but I still have three to read. I’m looking forward to seeing how things progress with the rest of the series.

We’ll see if I can finish all of these by the end of the year. I think I’ll definitely be able to finish a few but I’m not sure about all of them :). There are plenty of exciting book releases to be distracted by. What series do you hope to finish in 2019? I’d also love to know if you’ve read any of the series I’ve mentioned.
