Publisher Spotlight: Orbit

Hi guys, I hope you are all well. As you can tell from the title, today I’m starting what will hopefully be a new series of posts on this blog. Basically I am going to pick a publisher and talk a bit about them, as well as sharing my favourite books from them and what I’m anticipating. You can see from the title, the first publisher I’m writing about is Orbit. Since this publisher mainly deals with science fiction and fantasy books, it’s no surprise that it’s one of my favourites.

Orbit is a science fiction and fantasy publisher with teams in the UK and US.

  • Codex Alera series / Jim Butcher / my review

  • Empire of Ashes / book 3 of the Draconis Memoria / Anthony Ryan
  • The Thousand Deaths of Ardor Benn / Tyler Whitesides
  • Senlin Ascends / book 1 of the Books of Babel / Josiah Bancroft
  • The Dragon’s Path / Daniel Abraham

Anticipated:

  1. Orbit are one of my favourites too! I think the general standard of fantasy coming out of them (I haven’t read much sci-fi) is really, really high at the moment. Recently, I’ve loved The Grey Bastards, The Gutter Prayer and Empire of Sand.

  2. I love the sound of this series of blog posts! I haven’t actually read anything from your list of recommendations except the first Powder Mage book, haha. Although actually I have read some of Canavan’s work, but it was years ago and I can’t quite remember which ones! Something like Priestess of the White, maybe?!
