Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of book, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This weeks topic is a page to screen freebie, so you could talk about your favourite adaptations or books to read before seeing the film. I’ve decided to talk about two things. First four of my anticipated adaptations and second, four of my page to screen wishlist. These are the books that I would love to see on screen, either as film or TV series. I couldn’t come up with ten, sorry. Let’s get started.
Anticipated adaptations:
-
His Dark Materials / Philip Pullman / BBC and HBO / TV series / 2019
-
Witcher series / Andrzej Sapkowski / Netflix / TV series / 2019
-
P.S I Still Love You / Jenny Han / Netflix / Film
-
Dune / Frank Herbert / Legendary Entertainment / Film / 2020
Page to screen wishlists:
-
Spellslinger series / Sebastien de Castell / These books are so much fun and I think it would make a fantastic animated TV show.
-
Shardlake series / C. J. Sansom / I’ve enjoyed all seven books in this series and think it would make an amazing mystery/crime TV show.
-
Old Man’s War series / John Scalzi / These books would make a great science fiction film or TV show.
-
Old Kingdom trilogy / Garth Nix / This trilogy is one of my all time favourites and I’d love to see a screen adaptation.
I hope all of those series are adapted into films or TV shows. Fingers crossed!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

I like your twist on this week’s topic. I haven’t seen TATBILB, but I’d like to read the book and watch the movie at some point. Then of course I’d have to watch the sequel.

Thank you. Yeah I don’t normally watch the film first but I’m not a big YA romance fan so I wasn’t planning on reading the books anyway. 🙂 I hope you enjoy them.

I had no idea that the Shardlake series was so big! I’m not sure the books are for me, but they do come highly recommended by my friend. 😀
I didn’t like the TATBILB book *that* much, but I thought the film was very cute, so I’m keen to try the sequel!

Yeah it is quite a big series and it’s not finished yet. Well I hope you enjoy them if you check it out. Ah OK, I haven’t read the book but I enjoyed the film.
