Six Sacred Swords is self published fantasy book and is the first instalment in the Weapons and Wielders series. It is a prequel series to the Arcane Ascension series, which I had not read prior to reading this book. As of writing this I don’t know how long this series is planned to be, but the second book, Diamantine, may be released some time this year (2020).
It is a light hearted fantasy adventure with a compelling plot and well written characters. I didn’t know a whole lot about this book before picking it up so I tried it out on a bit of a whim and I’m very glad I did. It was such an entertaining read and I enjoyed every second of reading it. The three main characters are so well written and I loved the developing friendship between the them. The plot is fairly linear but that allows the main focus to be on the characters and their relationships. Rowe does a good job at writing fight scenes and the world building was quite well done too. If you are looking for a light hearted, quick and entertaining fantasy read, then I highly recommend checking this one out.
Overall I thought this was a fantastic introduction to this new series and I can’t wait to see where things go next for these characters. I am definitely interested in checking out the Arcane Ascension series too. Have you guys read this book? I’d love to know what you thought. Let’s chat in the comments. I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.
Nice to see some good self-published stuff. I’ve only picked up one recently that was enjoyable so will keep my eyes peeled for this one 🙂
