Hi guys, I hope you are all well. I’ve been using my bullet journal for a couple of years now so I thought I’d share some of my favourite spreads. I’ve found it really useful to keep my blog organised and it’s good that you can customised it to suit your needs. It does take some time to set up but personally I’ve found it useful. I have a full bullet journal set up post which you can check out here if you’re interested. Let’s get started.
Monthly spread – this is super useful for organising my blog schedule. I really liked doing it this way with the list of dates down the left hand side – I tend to write first in pencil as I’m planning my posts and then once I’ve finalised everything I’ll write in pen.
Ongoing series – I’m currently in the middle of over 20 series so it’s nice to have a list keeping track of all of them. It also keeps track of how many books I’ve read in each series.
Films I’ve seen – I love watching films and I’ve liked keeping track of what I’ve seen over the past couple of years. It makes it easier for me to share new favourites with you guys too.
Mental health tracker – this is a great way to keep track of any changes in my mental health and any possible causes. In the future I think I’m going to include a mood tracker so that I can have a clear idea of how often I am anxious and/or low. I can definitely expand this spread to make it even better in tracking my mental health.
I’ll definitely be continuing to use my bullet journal in the future. The set up can be a little time consuming but I’ve really enjoyed using mine. Do you use a bullet journal? I’d love to know your thoughts on them. I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.
Hi guys I hope you are all well. I know we are now well into the new year but a new year meant a new bullet journal set up and I wanted to share that with you guys today. I had my first bullet journal last year and found it really useful so decided to continue with it this year. I hope that’s alright with you guys.
Once again I’ve started this bullet journal with my goals for the year. These include some personal, blogging and bookish goals. Then I have a year in review spread over four pages. I didn’t use this last time but I think it’s quite useful to see the year in 6 month sections with space to note down any events. After that I have a spread of a stats tracker for the year as well as a blog post tracker. I know it’s not all about numbers here on my blog but I quite like having a view of the activity of my blog and how it’s doing. Next I have a page to keep track of my goodreads challenge for this year and a space to note down my favourite books of the year. On the opposite page I have a page dedicated to my reading statistics for the year ahead. I didn’t do this last year but I thought I’d try it out. I’ve split it into three sections; gender, star rating and nationality. I was thinking of also adding a space for the page numbers of books but I decided to just keep it at those three. After that I have an Instagram tracker which is pretty self explanatory; I use it to keep track of the days I post.
The next pages are all taken up with my monthly blog schedule, as well as a page to note down anything each month, such as TBRs, monthly favourites etc. All my blog posts are written down in blue and everything else such as any blog tours I’m involved with or my contribution to the Fantasy Faction site are noted down in black. An orange dot means that a post is finished and scheduled. I tend to note down in pencil first while I’m still planning out a month and then once the schedule is finalised I’ll write down in pen.
The first spread after my monthly spread is focused on my TBR. These are all the books I own but haven’t read yet at the start of the year. I’m hoping by the end of the year I will have most of these books read. Next I have a spread to keep track of the series I’m currently reading. All of the series listed are series I want to finish at some point. At this point I have over 20 series I am currently in the middle of so I thought this spread would be useful to track my progress with each series.
After that I have my most anticipated books noted down, as well as a page with some of my anticipated film releases for the year ahead. Speaking of films the next spread I have is films I’ve seen in 2018 page. I did this last year and wanted to continue with it this year. I love watching films and I liked keeping track of what I’ve seen. Next I have a page to note down any new favourites throughout the year – pretty self explanatory :). After that I have my mental health tracker. Again this is one I had last year and I think it’s a good idea for me to note down how my mental health is doing each month. Next I have a fitness tracker, which is colour coded by activity. I’m not a very active person but I’m hoping this year to get into the flow of exercising regularly. Hopefully this will help motivate me as well as allow me to keep track of things. As you can see January wasn’t a great month for exercise but I’m hoping to do better next month.
After that I have a page to note down any milestones that may happen in 2018, such as 500 followers on my blog, as well as space to note down any events that happen in my life, such as travelling somewhere for the first time. Next I’m currently taking an online course about dog psychology so I have a page to keep track of my progress with that. The next spread is all about book requests of 2018. This is split into three months where I can note down the books I’ve requested, whether it was accepted and whether I’m reviewing it. After that I have two pages to plan for future recommendations post. The penultimate page I have is a list of 18 new authors I want to try out this year. Lastly I have a page to write down my favourite books of the year, separated into a two columns for my 5 star and 4 star books. I also have a space to note down any disappointing reads.
That’s all I have for you guys for now. I’ve found the bullet journal to be really useful, especially when it comes to keeping organised with my blog. Have you tried a bullet journal? I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.
Hi guys, how are you all? I hope you’ve had a nice beginning of July. I have to admit that I’m kind of impatiently waiting for the start of autumn now 🙂 – I’m not a summer person really. Anyway, today I thought I would revisit my bullet journal with you guys. At the beginning of the year I showed you my bullet journal and I thought now that I’ve been using it for around six months I would share how I’ve got on with it. Also I apologise in advance for the lighting in some of these photos but it was natural lighting so there isn’t alot I can do about it. Let’s get started.
The first two pages are pretty self explanatory – there my 2017 resolutions and a year at a glance page which contains birthdays and holiday dates. The next pages (pictured below) are all blog related. The first is a stats tracker for my blog, Instagram and twitter accounts. I know it’s not all about numbers but it’s nice to see some growth. Next I have a blog post ideas page. I like to be able to come up with new content so this is the place I come up with ideas – although I’m a little bit stuck with ideas at the moment. I then have a blog and YouTube post tracker, as you can see I’ve been pretty inconsistent with my YouTube posts – I’m still trying to get the hang of it. I also have a page set up to track my goodreads challenge and a place to note down my favourite books.
My next pages are all monthly spreads to keep track of all things blog related. I like having it all in one place for me to see. After that I have a place to note down my monthly posts, tbrs and videos as well as a possible daily plan for my Instagram account, although I don’t always stick to it :). Blue ink indicates blog posts, green indicates a YouTube post and black indicates a personal thing. Also a orange dot shows it’s written and scheduled, and once it’s posted I’ll tick it with a red pen.
After all of my monthly spreads I have a page to keep track of my TBR books, although I haven’t been great at keeping this up to date. Then I have a couple of pages dedicated to my anticipated releases of 2017 whether it’s books, films or games. There’s a lot of great stuff coming out this year and I like to keep track of it all.
Next up I have a page to note down any new favourites, whether it’s food, skincare, games etc, for possible posts in the future. Then I have a spread for my mental health tracker. I split these pages into four for each month, so I can note down how the overall month has been for my mental health and how I’ve been feeling. After that I have a fitness tracker. I’ve been trying to be more active this year so this is a great way of keeping track of that – as you can see it is colour coded depending on activity. I also have a spread to keep track of all the films that I have seen this year.
The next page is a bucket list type page – things I want to learn, places I want to visit, things to see etc. As you can see I then have a page to note down any big moments of 2017 and opposite that a page that reminds me of a few things when you are feeling a bit down. Next I have a place to note down the dates of posting certain posts – just so I know what I’m posting and when. Opposite that I have an Instagram tracker, which is pretty self explanatory. I keep track of when I am posting on Instagram. Then I have a brain dump spread, which is again self explanatory. The next page allows me to plan for future recommendation posts and on the opposite page I’ve noted down all of the authors I’ve talked about so far on my blog in author explorations. The penultimate spread has a page dedicated to my progress on my unfinished series and a place to note down my favourite and disappointing books of 2017. Finally I have a rough packing list for Crete and on the opposite page a couple of quotes – one from J. R. R. Tolkien and the other from Aubrey Hepburn.
That is all I have to share with you guys today. I hope some of found this a little interesting. I have to say I have really enjoyed using my bullet journal and will definitely be continuing on with it. Do you guys use a bullet journal? What do you think? I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.
